Support CRS

There are many ways to support Churchill Road!  Maybe you like to participate in the classroom and be a room parent?  Maybe you like to "pound the pavement" and advocate for all Fairfax County schools? Or maybe you want to volunteer for one of our many PTA committees?

We are lucky to have a generous community and an active PTA, but without funding, unfortunately none of this is possible.  Your PTA membership--while greatly appreciated--only covers our state and national dues and things like copy paper and administrative costs.  Everything else comes from fundraising efforts sponsored by the PTA.

First and foremost there is The Bobcat Fund, the PTA's direct-donation drive.  This drive allows each family to give a one time donation in lieu of countless fundraising efforts like selling magazines or hosting bake sales.

The CRS PTA has several smaller fundraising initiatives as well:

  • Box Tops and Shopping Programs: We call this "easy money."  Why? Because you don't have to purchase anything outside of your normal routine.  For example, you could clip and collect Box Tops.  Or suggest Churchill Road Elementary as your beneficiary on Amazon, and CRS will get a kickback.
  • Restaurant Nights: Periodically, the PTA will organize a fundraiser with a local restaurant.  If you dine there on the day in question, the PTA will receive a percentage of your food total.
  • Spirit Wear: This year we have a fantastic new line of CRS spirit wear!  Show pride in your school and wear your Bobcat blue and white!  The PTA gets a percentage of these sales.
  • Bingo Night: Last year, the PTA hosted a "Stars Wars" Bingo Night which was a fantastic success!  Look for another fun Bingo event this winter.
  • Large School Events: The PTA currently rotates three big fundraisers every three years--the CRS 5K, the Parent/Teacher Basketball game, and a third event known as "President's Choice."  In past years this has been a Fun Fair or most recently, a Trivia Night.  And in 2017-18 this will be a celebration of Churchill Road's 60th Anniversary.
