Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is a curriculum-based program for girls in grades 3-6. Practices combine an innovative and fun curriculum designed exclusively for pre-teen girls addressing specific life skills through the use of games, warm-ups, and workouts. The program's goal is to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development.

 

Note: The CRS PTA does not manage this program.


Program OverviewGirls on the Run

The program runs from in the spring and culminates in a 5K run in May. The GOTR team meets every Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m at CRS with your coaches, CRS teachers Ms. Truax, Ms. Overend, and Ms. Lackey. Students will be dismissed from the CRS track.

Registration opens in February

 

The fee is $175 (includes participation in 10 weeks, 19 lessons conducted by certified GOTR coaches, the 5K running event, GOTR technical t-shirt, 5K medal, and comprehensive insurance).

Girls on the Run of NOVA (GOTR NOVA) envisions a world where every girl knows she has the ultimate power to be her best. Our programming is delivered over a 10-week season by trained volunteer coaches who guide and mentor pre-adolescent and adolescent girls through a rich curriculum. Girls on the Run of NOVA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and an affiliate of Girls on the Run International, serving approximately 5,000 girls each year at more than 150 sites across Northern Virginia annually.
