Helping Hungry Kids

Check back for information on this program! Currently, we do not have events scheduled for 2021-2022.

Helping Hungry Kids of Northern Virginia (HHK) provides roughly 1,300 bagged weekend meals a year to kids on free and reduced lunches who would not otherwise be assured of a meal when they aren't at school.

Among the participating Northern Virginia Schools receiving these meals is Dogwood Elementary, our sister school in Reston.

Helping Hungry Kids Meal Assemblymeal assembly event

This community service project wouldn't be possible without YOUR support! We need parent volunteers on the day of the event to help with a Costco run to help purchase extra supplies, student check-in/check-out, and meal bag assembly supervision. Check back for volunteer sign-up.

HHK DonationsDonations for meal assembly

These meal bags require shelf-stable food supplies – and lots of them! So we're inviting all students to donate food for this project. Food donations can be dropped off in the grey community service bins in the front lobby, near the cafeteria, and in all classroom hallways. Food will be collected by 9 AM each morning, starting Dates TBA.
