New Families at Churchill Road
New to Churchill Road? Welcome! Below are some tips and information to help you get started as a parent new to CRS!
school Registration
You can find general registration instructions on the FCPS website and information on the CRS website. Parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible (particularly for rising Kindergartners) - this helps the CRS administration plan staffing for the upcoming school year. And don't forget to check the school supplies list.
School Calendars
Help plan your family's schedule with the FCPS calendars, Churchill Road calendar, the Churchill Road bell schedule, and our PTA calendar.
Helpful Resources
Get ready for the school year with our Back to School checklist. Have questions or heard an acronym you don't know? Consult our FAQs - we might have the answer you need! New to the area? Check our list of local resources for suggestions. Find even more resources to help you and your child's educational experience at CRS on our parent resources and special education pages.
Stay In the Know
Register on our website and subscribe to our newsletter — plus, our Room Parents will stay in touch with you and keep you up-to-date on class/grade events. Also, by creating an account, you can join and use our CRS Family Directory. And you can follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter.
You don't have to be a member of our PTA to create an account — though we would love for you to join us! Our PTA membership opens for new members to join (or current members to renew) in late August, usually the day of Open House.
Meet the Community
Attend a Principal's Coffee/Pizza/Meeting and stay for a PTA meeting. Our New Family Outreach committee hosts Meet & Greets for Kindergarteners and new families with students in grades 1-6 during the summer and Principal's meetings during the school year. We would love to see you there and answer any questions!
