Kids' Literature Quiz (KLQ) ClubKids' Literature Quiz

KLQ is an international literature competition in which students ages 10-13 work in teams to answer questions about books they have read. Our KLQ club is open to students in grades 5-6.

Our weekly meetings will cover various literary genres and incorporate quizzes to test our knowledge of classic kids' books and contemporary favorites.

Learn more about the KLQ competition in this overview video or on the KLQ website.

Registration

If your student is interested in learning more about KLQ, we will host a virtual information session on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Please contact the KLQ Coordinator to receive information on how to join the session. Parents and students should plan to join together.

A lottery to determine participants will be conducted on November 6 if the number of interested students exceeds the club's capacity. After the lottery, the KLQ Coordinator will notify parents via email regarding lottery status and instructions on completing registration and payment. The club cost is $150 per student (plus a processing fee of $5).

Club Meetings

We will be meeting virtually on Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The club runs on school days from 11/9/21 to 2/15/22. Students will be responsible for reading a book of their choice from the selected genre each week and submitting questions and facts before each meeting.
